Chapter 22: Working with Tom Jackson Productions and Amy Wolter
Posted by admin on July 6th, 2010 | 1 Comment »
This week I am going to post a blog post by Amy Wolter, the live music producer from Tom Jackson productions that we flew in from Nashville to work with us on our show last week. She wrote a post about the experience on her own blog and I liked it so I’m going to repost it
Here is the link to it: http://bit.ly/9xXEu6
On a personal note, the experience was a very worthwhile one. One of the things that Amy helped us understand as band is how to step out of our “musician heads” and step into the head of being a member of the audience. Most audience members don’t speak the same musical language that musicians speak, so they will actually HEAR something better when they can SEE it. Amy helped show us how to SHOW the audience what we were playing which at first, made some of us uncomfortable or feel insecure. However as the band leader I encouraged everybody to take risks and trust Amy’s expertise in the subject of Live Performance Production and as we continued to work, we started to get more comfortable with some of the movement we were doing. Even simple things like walking to the front of the stage to take a solo or highlight a bass line made huge differences.
Our first show since our work with Amy is tomorrow night in Burlington VT. We are excited to see how our connection with our audience benefits from this work and are eager to share it with you all.
Stay tuned…
A Break In Chapters and an Update

I’m back.
My blog platform was broken for about two weeks, and then I went to Paris for a week for the most romantic week of my life with my lovely lady. It was a surprise for her birthday and we romped around the most beautiful city in the world for 7 days and ate our faces off.
And now I’m back, albeit ten pounds heavier
Much has happened in the past three weeks to say the least. Our team has been growing beautifully and I have a big smile on my face.
As far as the real time story is concerned: I think I over-estimated myself and right now, I can only post once a week. This will change most likely in the next couple months and I can start posting regularly again, but since we are in our beginning stages as a full time business, I have my hands very very full so I will do my best.
Here is a quick update on what has happened in the past three weeks:
1) Meet Nicole: our new manager. She rocks and we are figuring out exactly how she is going to use her talents to help grow this band
2) Meet Beatrice our publicist. You will be seeing much of her work pay off in the next coming months.
3) We are going into the studio in July and August to record FULL BAND tracks….FINALLY. YAY
4) We will have shows up the wazoo in August through December so stay tuned if you live anywhere in the United States
5) We are looking for investors who want to take a risk and own a piece of one of America’s next hottest performing acts. Know anybody?
6) Meet Nick and Lisa: They are interns but they don’t get coffee or make copies. They are helping build the company from the ground up and I am grateful to have them. Say hi to them at our upcoming shows. They will be running around or sitting at the merch table.
Stay tuned.
love
Zach
