Chapter 23: Getting Busy

We are getting very busy these days. We just finished tracking 6 tunes in the studio as part of our new album to be released in two parts and we have a jam packed schedule for the rest of the year.
As some of you know who were at our last gig in NYC, we have been working with the National Wildlife Federation to try and raise money and awareness to clean up the BP Oil Spill and will be continuing to donate a portion of the money that we make from ticket sales and merchandise to this very pertinent cause. So come on out and get your groove on for charity!
Pictures speak louder than words, but I’ll say a few words about how the band has been doing over the past couple weeks. We have had a great and relaxing August to record, rehearse, tweak and add some new material for a jam packed September. Our work with Tom Jackson in the middle of July was a stepping stone for us as Tom helped us develop a new platform for improvisation and full band creativity. Taking these ideas to new heights is our goal for the rest of 2010.
In terms of recording, we just began work on our new record which will be released in parts beginning in November. Because the music business has changed so much over the past couple years, we will not be “dropping” this record in the old fashion way but instead, employing new ways to deliver these tracks to you when they are done. I am extremely excited about these upcoming tracks…full of horns, strings, animal noises and other surprises…
